Discussion Module
The Discussion Module provides access to a number of different types
of experimental discussion tools/formats. Along the tools being studied are:
- Power Pad Plus: A text "white board" that is used either by the instructor
to enter text that is immediately distributed to (shared among) the students, or
passed among the students in a que to enter text that is distributed to the
rest of the students and the instructor.
- Individual Input/Aggregated Display: A tool that allows individual students to
answer a question or input comments, collects all of the input, and distributes the
aggregate to everyone.
- Course Feedback: This tool allows feedback to be input by the students and to
be inspected by the instructor.
- Workstation Notes: This tool allows individuals at each workstation to input
comments. Comments can be accessed by others by clicking on the name of the
workstation on a seating chart.
In addition, other tools are being considered and developed for round robin discussions and
aggregated course notes.
